Modern civilization develop muscle imbalance patterns from trama, tension, and poor posture. Fortunately, these imbalance patterns have become clinically predictable in the ways they affect man's neuromuscular system. All striated muscles in the body have a tendency to develop predictable imbalance patterns before the appearance of pain . For the modern manual therapist, this is a very important goal or consideration. By learning to recognize and treat muscle imbalance and strain patterns in the body, before the onset of pain. Perfect Posture is a condition which body mass is evenly distributed . ligamentos tension must be Perfectly balanced against compressive and tensegrity fources , so the typical activities of standing walking and sitting requires minimal energy expenditure. there are two types of posture .
One being standing posture , in which gravity weighs heavy on ant. pulling down. because of standing erect .you over time will eventually fall from grace.
In sitting Posture your head ,your shoulders your hips should be directly over the ischial tuberosity and joints are at rest.
Standing Posture : In the idealized erect standing posture the line of gravity is to be considerd to be located in the middle between the following points.
1 The mastoid processes. (starting with head down to feet )
2 a point just in front of the shoulder joints .
3 a point just behind the center of the hip joints .
4 a point just in front of the center of the knee joint.
5 a point approximately five to six centimeters in front of the ankle joints.
Postural (tonic) muscles are structurally designed to resist fatigue and funtion in the presence of prolonged gravitational exposure , such as standing upright. when their capacity to resist stress is , overwhelmed , tonic (postural) muscles become irritable , tight , and often shortened ; and, through reciprocal innervation their antagonists become weak and inhibited .
when typically weak muscles such as rectus abdominis, gluteals deep neck flexors, and lower shoulder stabilizers begin to lose the battle with gravity weight is transferred to deep ligamentous and bony structures witch in time will ware on or weaken the body as a whole .
